LIBRARY INFORMATION

   The college library of ShriSantShankar Maharaj college of agriculture pimpalkhuta was established in 2008 with seperate state of art building to fulfill the academic needs of the students,faculties and extension staff of the college.

The library has become an important center for learning with its unique status with respect to collection of textbook, reference book, competitive books, newspapers, weekly newspapers, magzinesetc.with need base collection and development.

With the increasing impact of ICT on higher education the library has adopted ICT tool,for the effective library service. The library has computerized with Library Management Software, with the installation of RFID, The library has moved on more step towards modern library.

Library building

The college library building is planned on modular principles based on the requirements of the college library complex. The plan of the library building comprised the following areas-

  • Library Hall
  • Itconsists store room,book dormitory and bindery.
  • Separate reading room for boys and girls is available in reading hall.
  • Newspaper reading section in library hall.
  • Competitive examination section.
  • KOHA software use in library.
  • OPAC ( Online Public Access Catlog) System use in library.

    Library Membership

    The student enrolled for various courses at SSMCAcampus haveto submit the prescribed application form for the library membership, now the library has planned online registration system for library membership.

    LUNCH BREAK - 12 .00PM TO 1.00 PM

    CLOSED ON - PUBLIC HOLIDAYS ,SUNDAY, SECOND AND FORTH SATURDAY

    LIBRARY RULES

    Library Rules

  • Each student shall be required to produce the identity card on demand.
  • The member should not under the influenced of intoxicants.
  • The member shall be properly dressed.
  • The member shall not carry any belongings except money purse,notebook and reference card and same shall be deposited at the deposit counter against a token.On no account the library staff could be held responsible for the loss /damage to the property of the member while in temporary custody.
  • The member should keep silence within in the library.
  • Themember should not smoke nor spit in the library.
  • The member should not misbehave nor damage the documents or other properties of the library.
  • Book shall be loaned subject to the following condition.
  • Borrower should get satisfied that the library document lent in should condition and the pages are neighter missing nor torn. In case library document is found to be damaged and the same as not been reported to the librarian.The borrower shall be held responsible for such damage. And the borrower shall be required to replace it or pay the value thereof as determine by the libararian.
  • Library document should not be spoiled by underlining or writing with the pen,pencil,ink or by any other means.
  • Library document loned for the normal period may be renewed for one more loan period on production of the same provided they are not already climate by the weather
  • Member can borrow library documents only ones in a day.
  • Library documents which in the opinion of the librarian are not is good condition shall not be issued for home reading .
  • Loan period for various library documents for different categories is as follows-

    • BOOKS

  • Academic staff engaged in teaching-1 year
  • Academic staff not engaged in teaching-15days
  • The student and other readers-1 week

    • THE FOLLOWING CHARGES SHALL BE RECOVERD FROM THE BORROWER

  • BOOKS -1Rs./per day during due.
  • The member shall report immediately to the libarian about loss of any library documents borrower from the library .
  • The following charges shall be required for the loss of library document.

  • GENERAL BOOKS- Replacement or current price plus 10Rs as a fine.
  • TEXTBOOK,MULTI VOLUME BOOK,AND REFERNCE BOOK-Replacement of current price plus 10 rs as a fine.
  • The cost of complete set shall have to be paid along with the loss of single volume if it is not available separately.
  • DAMAGE OR MUTILATION-Replacemet or repairs or the cost of the document plus fine upto 50 rs.

  • Published Articles file- The articles published in different newspapers and magzines of a college staff is collected in a library.
  • Collection of daily updates- The collection of daily news in a newspapers regarding of the college is collected in a library.
  • Previous year paperset file- The collection of previous years paper set is collected in a library.
  • Syllabus plan- All semesters syllabus plans are available in a college library.
